My name is Bradley Tyrrell and I am the Head of Library, Information and Research Services at Scotch College in Swanbourne, Western Australia. Over the past three years I have worked in leadership positions in the field of Information Communication Technologies where I have overseen the implementations of various programs ranging from 1:1 Laptop programs to the first 1:1 iPad program in WA for an entire cohort.

Formally I have a Bachelor of Secondary Education from the University of Notre Dame Australia, Majoring in IT and Accounting/Business. As part of my degree I completed additional majors in ICT and have also certifications IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. I have recently completed a Masters of Education in the area of Educational Leadership.

In 2013 I was selected as an Apple Distinguished Educator as well as an Adobe Educational Leader. In these roles I actively work to support educators and the wider community to use technology effectively in an ever changing educational setting.

As I reflect on my past I look to the future and what role I might play in the education of students in secondary schools. It was a strategic decision to undertake a role within libraries to  ensure that they remain relevant. I believe that they are critical in the pedagogical redevelopment of curriculum and libraries are one of the only locations within schools to support teachers and a whole school philosophy to get the balance right.
